We were lucky enough to attend the AI Odyssey, an event organized by L’Opinion, on the topic of generative AI in business.
Here are a few highlights from the presentations:
- Estimated productivity gains of between 15% and 30% on average. Obviously, this will have to be followed up by tangible facts.
- GAFAM’s R&D budget (including Chinese players) in conversational AI is higher than the EU’s total R&D budget for all subjects combined.
- They heavily subsidize usage, to consolidate their oligopolies. The price paid by users is currently only around 10% of the real cost. It’s going to be a rude awakening…
- A good way to position the AI Act: it doesn’t deal with AI, but with people’s rights.
